Bulgarian Armed Forces
The Bulgarian Armed Forces consist of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, responsible for defending the country and supporting international peacekeeping missions. Established in the early 20th century, they have undergone significant modernization since Bulgaria joined NATO in 2004, enhancing their capabilities and interoperability with allied forces.
The military is structured into various units, including infantry, armored, and special operations forces. The Ministry of Defense oversees the armed forces, ensuring they are well-equipped and trained to respond to both national and international security challenges. The Bulgarian military also participates in joint exercises and missions with other NATO member countries.
