Bukalo antelope
The Bukalo antelope, also known as the Sitatunga, is a semi-aquatic species found in the wetlands and swamps of central and southern Africa. It is characterized by its long, slender legs and elongated hooves, which help it navigate through muddy terrain. The males are larger than females and have spiral horns that can grow up to 90 centimeters long.
These antelopes have a shaggy, water-repellent coat that varies in color from reddish-brown to grayish-brown, providing excellent camouflage in their natural habitat. The Bukalo antelope is herbivorous, primarily feeding on aquatic plants, grasses, and leaves. They are known for their ability to swim and often submerge themselves to escape predators.
