Bufo Bufo
Bufo bufo, commonly known as the common toad, is a widespread amphibian found across Europe, parts of Asia, and North Africa. It typically has a warty, brownish skin that helps it blend into its environment. Adults can grow up to 15 centimeters in length and are known for their distinctive, bulging eyes.
These toads are primarily nocturnal and prefer moist habitats like gardens, forests, and wetlands. They feed on insects, worms, and other small invertebrates. During the breeding season, Bufo bufo migrates to ponds and streams, where they lay thousands of eggs in long strands.
