Brown Recluse Spider
The Brown Recluse Spider is a small, venomous spider found primarily in the central and southern United States. It is typically light brown in color and has a distinctive violin-shaped marking on its back. Adult spiders are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long, excluding their long legs. They prefer dark, undisturbed areas, such as closets, attics, and basements.
While bites from the Brown Recluse are rare, they can cause serious reactions in some individuals. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, and in severe cases, necrosis of the skin. It is important to seek medical attention if bitten, especially if symptoms worsen.
