Brother André
Brother André, born Alfred Bessette in 1845, was a Canadian religious brother known for his deep faith and dedication to helping others. He became a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross and served at Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal, where he welcomed thousands of visitors seeking healing and comfort.
He was known for his simple lifestyle and strong devotion to Saint Joseph, often attributing miraculous healings to the saint's intercession. Brother André passed away in 1937 and was canonized as a saint by Pope Francis in 2010, recognized for his humility and compassion.
