British florin
The British florin was a coin used in the United Kingdom, worth two shillings or one-tenth of a pound sterling. It was first introduced in 1849 and was made of silver until 1920, when it transitioned to a copper-nickel composition. The florin featured various designs, including the image of Queen Victoria and later, other monarchs.
The florin was part of the pre-decimal currency system in Britain, which was replaced by a decimal system in 1971. Although it is no longer in circulation, the florin remains a significant part of British numismatic history and is often collected by enthusiasts of British coins.
