British Transport Police
The British Transport Police (BTP) is a specialist police force responsible for policing the railways and certain other transport systems in Great Britain. Established in 1825, it focuses on maintaining safety and security for passengers and staff on trains, at stations, and on the transport network. The BTP works closely with other law enforcement agencies to address crime and ensure public safety.
BTP officers have the same powers as regular police officers, including the ability to arrest individuals and investigate crimes. They also engage in community outreach and education to promote safety awareness among travelers. The force operates across England, Scotland, and Wales, covering various transport systems, including the National Rail network and London Underground.
