British Malaya
British Malaya was a historical region in Southeast Asia that included the Malay Peninsula and the island of Singapore. It was under British colonial rule from the late 18th century until the mid-20th century. The area was known for its rich natural resources, including rubber and tin, which attracted British investment and migration.
The region was made up of several states, including Perak, Selangor, and Johor, and was governed through a combination of direct and indirect rule. British Malaya played a significant role in the economic development of the region and laid the groundwork for the formation of modern-day Malaysia after gaining independence in 1957.
