Brigate Rosse
The Brigate Rosse, or Red Brigades, was an Italian left-wing terrorist organization founded in the early 1970s. It aimed to create a revolutionary state through armed struggle and was involved in numerous violent acts, including kidnappings and assassinations. The group gained notoriety for the kidnapping and murder of former Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro in 1978.
Active primarily during the 1970s and 1980s, the Brigate Rosse sought to overthrow the Italian government and establish a Marxist regime. The organization was responsible for a series of violent attacks that led to widespread fear and a crackdown by law enforcement. By the late 1980s, the group had largely been dismantled.
