Bridget Bishop
Bridget Bishop was one of the first individuals to be tried and executed during the Salem witch trials in 1692. She was a tavern owner in Salem Village, Massachusetts, and was known for her outspoken personality and unconventional behavior, which made her a target for accusations of witchcraft.
Bishop was arrested in April 1692 and faced multiple charges, including bewitching several local girls. Despite her denial of the accusations, she was found guilty and hanged on June 10, 1692. Her trial and execution highlighted the hysteria and fear that characterized the Salem witch trials.
