Brasília, Brazil
Brasília is the capital city of Brazil, officially inaugurated in 1960. Designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and urban planner Lúcio Costa, it features a unique modernist architecture and a layout resembling an airplane. The city was built to promote the development of the interior of the country and reduce the concentration of political power in coastal cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The city is known for its wide avenues, green spaces, and iconic buildings, such as the National Congress and the Cathedral of Brasília. As a planned city, it has a distinct zoning system, separating residential, commercial, and governmental areas, contributing to its organized structure.
