Branta canadensis
Branta canadensis, commonly known as the Canada goose, is a large waterfowl native to North America. It is easily recognized by its black head and neck, white cheek patches, and brown body. Canada geese are often found near lakes, rivers, and wetlands, where they feed on grasses, grains, and aquatic plants.
These geese are known for their strong migratory behavior, traveling thousands of miles between their breeding grounds in Canada and the northern United States and their wintering areas in the southern United States and Mexico. Canada geese are social birds, often seen in flocks, and they are known for their distinctive honking calls.
