Brant
Brant is a type of waterfowl belonging to the genus Branta. These birds are known for their distinctive black heads and necks, along with white cheek patches. They primarily inhabit coastal regions and are often found in large flocks during migration. Brants feed mainly on aquatic plants and grasses.
The most common species is the Branta bernicla, or the Atlantic Brant, which breeds in the Arctic and migrates south during the winter. Brants are social birds, often seen in groups, and they play an important role in their ecosystems by helping to maintain the health of wetland habitats.
