Brachyteles
Brachyteles is a genus of primates known as woolly spider monkeys, found primarily in the tropical forests of South America. These monkeys are characterized by their long limbs, prehensile tails, and a distinctive coat of long, soft fur. They are social animals, often living in groups and communicating through a variety of vocalizations.
Woolly spider monkeys are primarily herbivorous, feeding on fruits, leaves, and flowers. They play a crucial role in their ecosystem by aiding in seed dispersal. Unfortunately, their populations are threatened by habitat loss and hunting, leading to conservation efforts aimed at protecting their natural habitats.
