Brachycephalic Breeds
Brachycephalic breeds are dogs and cats characterized by their short, flat skulls and broad heads. Common examples include French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Persian Cats. These breeds often have distinctive facial features, such as short noses and large eyes, which contribute to their unique appearance.
Due to their physical structure, brachycephalic animals can experience breathing difficulties, especially in hot or humid conditions. This condition, known as brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS), can lead to health issues, making it essential for owners to monitor their pets' breathing and overall well-being.
