Boxing History
Boxing has ancient roots, with evidence of the sport dating back to around 3000 BC in Mesopotamia. The modern version began to take shape in the 18th century in England, where rules were established, including the famous Queensberry Rules in 1867, which introduced gloves and a standardized ring size.
Throughout the 20th century, boxing gained immense popularity, producing legendary fighters like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. The sport has evolved with various weight classes and governing bodies, such as the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Council (WBC), ensuring fair competition and recognition of champions.
