Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon Whiskey is a type of American whiskey that must be made from at least 51% corn. It is typically aged in new charred oak barrels, which gives it a distinct flavor profile that includes notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. To be labeled as bourbon, it must also be distilled to no more than 160 proof and entered into the barrel at no more than 125 proof.
Originating in the United States, particularly in Kentucky, bourbon has a rich history and is often associated with Southern culture. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a key ingredient in cocktails like the Old Fashioned and Mint Julep.
