Borough President
A Borough President is an elected official in New York City who represents one of the five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, or Staten Island. Their primary role is to advocate for the needs and interests of their borough, working with local communities and city agencies to address issues such as housing, transportation, and public safety.
Borough Presidents also play a key role in the city's land use process. They review and provide recommendations on development projects and zoning changes within their borough. Additionally, they have a budget that they can allocate to various community projects and initiatives, helping to improve the quality of life for residents.
