Boon Bang Fai
Boon Bang Fai is a traditional festival celebrated in northeastern Thailand, particularly among the Lao communities. It is also known as the "Rocket Festival" and typically takes place in May. The festival marks the beginning of the rainy season and involves the launching of homemade rockets to encourage rainfall for the upcoming rice planting season.
During the celebration, participants create colorful rockets made from bamboo and other materials. These rockets are launched into the sky in a festive atmosphere filled with music, dance, and local food. The event not only serves agricultural purposes but also fosters community spirit and cultural identity among the locals.
