Bonnie Nettles
Bonnie Nettles was an American nurse and co-founder of the religious group known as the Heaven's Gate cult. Born on August 29, 1927, in Houston, Texas, she became known for her role in leading a group that believed in extraterrestrial life and the possibility of spiritual ascension. Nettles was often referred to as "Ti" by her followers.
In the early 1970s, she met Marshall Applewhite, who became her partner in the cult's teachings. Together, they promoted a belief system that combined elements of Christianity with science fiction. Nettles passed away on June 19, 1985, but her influence continued within the group until its tragic end in 1997.
