Boniface II of Montferrat
Boniface II of Montferrat was a nobleman from the House of Montferrat, born around 1170. He became the Marquess of Montferrat in 1207 and played a significant role in the Fourth Crusade, which aimed to reclaim the Holy Land. His leadership and military skills were crucial during this period.
In 1204, Boniface was elected the first Latin Emperor of Constantinople after the city was captured during the crusade. His reign was marked by political challenges and conflicts with rival factions. He ruled until his death in 1207, leaving a lasting impact on the region's history.
