Bombie
A "Bombie" is a type of unexploded ordnance, specifically a small bomb that is often dropped from aircraft. These devices can remain hidden and dangerous long after a conflict has ended, posing risks to civilians and the environment. Bombies are typically designed to scatter over a wide area, making them difficult to locate and remove.
Bombies are commonly associated with the Vietnam War and the Laos region, where large quantities were dropped. Many of these bombs did not detonate upon impact, leading to ongoing safety concerns. Efforts to clear these unexploded bombs continue, as they can cause injuries and fatalities long after the war has ended.
