Bok Globules
Bok Globules are small, dense clouds of gas and dust in space that are often associated with star formation. They typically measure a few light-years across and can contain enough material to form new stars. These globules are named after the astronomer Bart J. Bok, who studied them in the mid-20th century.
These dark regions are often seen against the backdrop of brighter areas in the sky, making them stand out. Bok Globules can be found in various star-forming regions, such as molecular clouds, where they serve as the initial sites for the birth of stars and planetary systems.
