The Boeing 367 Stratocruiser is a large, long-range commercial aircraft developed in the late 1940s. It is a derivative of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and features a distinctive double-deck design, allowing for increased passenger capacity and comfort. The Stratocruiser was primarily used for transcontinental and transatlantic flights, accommodating up to 100 passengers.
Equipped with powerful Pratt & Whitney R-4360 engines, the Stratocruiser could reach speeds of around 300 miles per hour. Its spacious interior included amenities like a lounge and sleeping berths, making it a luxurious option for air travel during its time. The aircraft was in service until the 1960s, when it was gradually replaced by more modern jets.
