Bobby Mitchell
Bobby Mitchell was a professional American football player who played as a running back and wide receiver. He was born on March 18, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mitchell played college football at the University of Iowa before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1949. He later joined the Washington Redskins, where he became known for his speed and versatility on the field.
Mitchell was a pioneer for African American players in the NFL, being one of the first to break the color barrier in the league. He was selected to the Pro Bowl multiple times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978. After retiring from football, he worked as a coach and administrator, contributing to the sport's development.
