Bobby Cox is a former professional baseball manager and player, best known for his time with the Atlanta Braves. He managed the team from 1978 to 1981 and then again from 1990 to 2010. Under his leadership, the Braves won five consecutive National League pennants from 1991 to 1995 and secured a World Series championship in 1995.
Cox was born on May 21, 1941, in Tucson, Arizona. He played as a third baseman in the Major Leagues for the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs before transitioning to coaching. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.
