Bob Denver
Bob Denver was an American actor best known for his role as Gilligan on the classic television show Gilligan's Island, which aired from 1964 to 1967. His portrayal of the bumbling first mate made him a beloved figure in American pop culture. Denver's career also included roles in other television series, such as The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.
Born on January 9, 1935, in New Rochelle, New York, Denver attended Loyola University and later served in the U.S. Army. He continued to work in television and film throughout his life, becoming a recognizable face in family entertainment until his passing on September 6, 2005.
