Blues and Royals
The "Blues and Royals" is a regiment of the British Army, officially known as the "Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons." It was formed in 1969 through the amalgamation of two historic regiments, the Royal Horse Guards and the Royal Dragoons. The regiment is part of the Household Cavalry and serves as both an armored reconnaissance unit and a ceremonial force.
The Blues and Royals are distinguished by their unique uniforms, which feature a dark blue tunic and a plumed helmet. They participate in various ceremonial duties, including the Changing of the Guard and state occasions, while also being trained for operational deployments in military conflicts.
