Blue Whale of Catoosa
The Blue Whale of Catoosa is a large, whimsical sculpture located in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Built in the 1970s, it was originally part of a small roadside attraction called the Blue Whale Park. The structure is 80 feet long and features a blue whale lying on its side, complete with a tail and a mouth that opens to reveal a slide for children.
This iconic landmark was created by a local man named Hugh S. Davis as a tribute to his wife, who loved whales. Over the years, the Blue Whale has become a popular stop for travelers along Route 66, symbolizing the quirky charm of American roadside attractions.
