Blu-ray technology
Blu-ray technology is a high-definition optical disc format designed for storing large amounts of data, primarily used for video and audio. It was developed to replace the older DVD format, offering significantly higher storage capacity, with a single-layer disc holding up to 25 GB and a dual-layer disc up to 50 GB. This allows for better video quality, including 1080p resolution, and enhanced audio formats.
The name "Blu-ray" comes from the blue-violet laser used to read the discs, which has a shorter wavelength than the red laser used in DVDs. This shorter wavelength enables more data to be packed into the same physical space, making Blu-ray discs ideal for high-definition movies and video games.
