Blessed Basil Moreau
Blessed Basil Moreau was a French priest born on March 11, 1799, in Saint-Étienne, France. He founded the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1837, aiming to provide education and spiritual guidance. Moreau emphasized the importance of both faith and reason in education, believing that a well-rounded approach could help individuals grow in their personal and spiritual lives.
Moreau's work extended beyond education; he also established the Sisters of Holy Cross to support his mission. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on September 15, 2007, recognizing his contributions to the Church and his commitment to serving others through education and faith.
