Blacktip Reef Shark
The Blacktip Reef Shark is a small shark species commonly found in shallow waters of the tropical and subtropical regions of the Indo-Pacific. It typically grows to about 5 to 6.5 feet in length and is easily recognized by the distinctive black tips on its fins. These sharks prefer coral reefs, where they hunt for small fish and invertebrates.
Blacktip Reef Sharks are known for their agility and speed, often seen swimming near the surface. They are social creatures, often found in groups, and are generally not considered dangerous to humans. Their populations are affected by habitat loss and fishing pressures, making conservation efforts important.
