Black-browed Albatross
The Black-browed Albatross is a large seabird known for its impressive wingspan, which can reach up to 2.5 meters (8.2 feet). This bird is easily recognizable by its distinctive black brow and white head, along with a predominantly white body and dark wings. They primarily inhabit the southern oceans, especially around the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.
These albatrosses are skilled fliers, often gliding over the ocean for hours without flapping their wings. They feed mainly on fish, squid, and crustaceans, using their keen eyesight to spot prey from above. The species is currently classified as near threatened due to factors like fishing bycatch and habitat loss.
