Black-Shanked Douc
The Black-Shanked Douc is a colorful primate native to the forests of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. It is known for its striking appearance, featuring a black face, bright orange and white fur, and long limbs. This species primarily inhabits the canopy of tropical rainforests and is an arboreal creature, adept at moving through trees.
These monkeys are social animals, often found in groups that can range from a few individuals to over twenty. Their diet mainly consists of leaves, fruits, and flowers, making them folivorous. The Black-Shanked Douc is currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and hunting pressures.
