Black Girls Who Code
Black Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 that aims to increase the number of women of color in the technology field. The organization provides girls aged 7 to 17 with opportunities to learn computer programming and other tech skills through workshops, summer camps, and after-school programs.
The initiative focuses on empowering young Black girls by fostering a supportive community and offering mentorship. By equipping them with essential skills, Black Girls Who Code seeks to close the gender and racial gap in the tech industry, encouraging participants to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
