General Bipin Rawat was an esteemed Indian military officer who served as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Indian Armed Forces. He was appointed to this position in December 2019, making him the first person to hold this role. Prior to this, he served as the Chief of Army Staff, where he played a significant role in modernizing the Indian Army and enhancing its operational capabilities.

Tragically, he passed away in a helicopter crash on December 8, 2021, along with his wife and several others.
