Bimodal Distribution
A bimodal distribution is a type of probability distribution that has two different modes, or peaks, in its frequency graph. This means that when data is plotted, it shows two distinct high points where values are concentrated, indicating that there are two prevalent groups or categories within the data set.
Bimodal distributions can occur in various fields, such as statistics, psychology, and economics. For example, in a study of test scores, one peak might represent students who studied hard, while the other peak represents those who did not study at all, highlighting the differing performance levels within the group.
