Biloxi language
The Biloxi language is a member of the Siouan language family, historically spoken by the Biloxi people, an Indigenous group in the southeastern United States. It was primarily used in areas around the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. The language is now considered extinct, with the last fluent speakers having passed away in the 20th century.
Efforts have been made to document and preserve the Biloxi language through linguistic studies and historical records. Although it is no longer spoken as a native language, it remains an important part of the cultural heritage of the Biloxi tribe and contributes to the understanding of Indigenous languages in North America.
