Bilbies
Bilbies are small, nocturnal marsupials native to Australia. They have long ears, a pointed snout, and a distinctive blue-grey fur. Bilbies are known for their burrowing habits, creating extensive tunnel systems in the ground. They primarily feed on insects, seeds, and other small invertebrates.
Once widespread, bilbies are now considered endangered due to habitat loss and competition with introduced species like rabbits and foxes. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their remaining populations and restore their habitats. Bilbies are often seen as a symbol of Australian wildlife and are sometimes referred to as "rabbit-eared bandicoots."
