Bikkurim
Bikkurim refers to the biblical practice of bringing the first fruits of the harvest to the Temple in Jerusalem. This ritual, outlined in the Torah, symbolizes gratitude to God for the bounty of the land. Farmers would select their finest produce and present it to the priests, acknowledging the divine source of their sustenance.
The celebration of Bikkurim took place during the Shavuot festival, marking the end of the grain harvest. It was a time of joy and community, as people gathered to express their appreciation for the blessings received throughout the year. This practice reinforced the connection between the land, the people, and their faith.
