Bias Tape
Bias tape is a narrow strip of fabric that is cut on the diagonal, or bias, of the fabric. This unique cutting method allows the tape to stretch, making it ideal for binding edges, finishing seams, or creating decorative accents on various sewing projects. Bias tape can be made from different materials, including cotton, polyester, or silk, and comes in various colors and patterns.
There are two main types of bias tape: single fold and double fold. Single fold bias tape is simply a strip folded in half, while double fold bias tape is folded in half again, creating a finished edge. Both types are commonly used in quilting, garment making, and home decor projects.
