Bhutanese Ngultrum
The Bhutanese Ngultrum is the official currency of Bhutan, introduced in 1974. It is abbreviated as BTN and is subdivided into 100 chhertum. The Ngultrum is pegged to the Indian Rupee, which is also widely accepted in the country.
The currency features various designs that reflect Bhutan's rich culture and heritage. Banknotes display images of important national symbols, such as the Druk, or Thunder Dragon, and notable figures from Bhutanese history. Coins are available in different denominations, contributing to everyday transactions in this Himalayan kingdom.
