Bhagat
A "Bhagat" is a term used in Indian culture to refer to a devotee or follower of a particular faith, often associated with the Bhakti movement. This movement emphasized personal devotion to a deity and promoted the idea of equality among all people, regardless of caste or social status.
In the context of Sikhism, a Bhagat can also refer to a saint or poet whose teachings are included in the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism. Notable figures like Kabir and Namdev are considered Bhagats for their spiritual contributions and poetic expressions of devotion.
