Bevo is a longhorn steer that serves as the mascot for the University of Texas at Austin. He is known for his distinctive appearance, featuring a large set of horns and a burnt orange coat, which represents the university's colors. Bevo has been a symbol of school spirit since the 1910s and is often present at athletic events, particularly football games. The current Bevo, known as Bevo XV, was introduced in 2016. He is cared for by the Texas Exes, the alumni association of the university, and is housed at the UT Austin campus. Bevo participates in various events, promoting school pride and tradition among students and fans.
