Betty Parris
Betty Parris was a young girl from Salem Village, Massachusetts, born in 1680. She is best known for her role in the Salem witch trials of 1692, where she, along with other girls, claimed to be possessed by witches. Her accusations led to widespread hysteria and the execution of several people accused of witchcraft.
Betty was the daughter of Reverend Samuel Parris, the local minister, which added to the intensity of the situation. Her actions and the subsequent trials highlighted the dangers of mass paranoia and the impact of social and religious tensions in colonial America.
