Betty MacDonald
Betty MacDonald was an American author best known for her humorous autobiographical books. Born on March 26, 1908, in Bremerton, Washington, she gained fame with her 1945 book, The Egg and I, which recounts her experiences as a chicken farmer. This book became a bestseller and was later adapted into a successful film.
In addition to her writing, MacDonald was a prominent figure in the Pacific Northwest literary scene. She published several other works, including the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle series, which delighted children and parents alike. Betty MacDonald passed away on February 7, 1958, leaving a lasting legacy in American literature.
