Bette Nesmith Graham
Bette Nesmith Graham was an American secretary and businesswoman, best known for inventing Liquid Paper, a correction fluid that allowed people to easily fix typing mistakes. Born on March 23, 1924, in Dallas, Texas, she developed the product in the 1950s while working as a secretary, seeking a solution to the common problem of errors on typewritten documents.
Graham's invention gained popularity and led to the founding of her own company, Liquid Paper Corporation, in 1967. She sold the company to Gillette in 1979 for $47.5 million, which helped solidify her legacy as a successful entrepreneur. Bette Nesmith Graham passed away on May 12, 1980.
