Beta Sagittarii
Beta Sagittarii, also known as Kaus Australis, is a bright star located in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is approximately 143 light-years away from Earth and is classified as a spectral type K1 III giant star. With an apparent magnitude of about 1.85, it is one of the brightest stars in its constellation.
Kaus Australis is part of the "Teapot" asterism within Sagittarius, which is often used as a guide to locate the center of the Milky Way galaxy. The star's name comes from Arabic, meaning "the southern bow," reflecting its position in the sky.
