Beta Leporis B
Beta Leporis B is a brown dwarf located approximately 24 light-years away in the constellation of Lepus. It is part of a binary system, orbiting the star Beta Leporis A, which is a K-type main-sequence star. Brown dwarfs are objects that are too massive to be considered planets but not massive enough to sustain hydrogen fusion like stars.
Discovered in 1999, Beta Leporis B has a temperature between 1,200 and 1,500 Kelvin, making it cooler than many stars. Its mass is estimated to be around 30 to 40 times that of Jupiter, placing it in the category of substellar objects.
