Beta Aquilae, also known as Alshain, is a star located in the constellation Aquila. It is approximately 45 light-years away from Earth and is classified as a K-type giant star. Alshain has a surface temperature of around 4,800 Kelvin, giving it a yellow-orange hue.
This star is notable for being one of the brighter stars in its constellation, with an apparent magnitude of about 3.7. Aquila is often associated with the mythological eagle that carried Zeus’s thunderbolts in ancient Greek mythology, adding to the star's cultural significance.
